Ho language



What do you do when you want to express yourself or you want to call someone? Yes, you make some noises which possess some meaningful frequencies to make your listener to get you. This noises called language which enable a person to communicate with other members of his community and kinship. 

Here I am going make you introduce about a Tribal language which is spoken by a central Indian tribe known as Ho. Ho people are found in the Indian states of Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal and also in some parts of Bangladesh as well. Their language is known as Ho language or Ho-Kaji which is closely related with the Mundari and Santali. About 1.05 million people primarily speak this language and Linguistic scholars have categorized this language in Munda branch of Austro-asiatic language family.  

So let’s learn some basic conversations in the Ho language.

How to great 
- Johaar or Jowar is term to great each other. Same term is also used for say 'goodbye'.

How are you?

Chilika mina miya (singular) 
Chilika mina bina (when ask two persons)
Chilika mina peya (plural)

(note: chilika=how, mina=are, miya/bina/meya= you.)

Where are you going? 

Okona seno tanam?

(note: okona= where, seno= going, tanam= you)

Come here. 


Nepa hujum.

(note: Nepa= here, hujum= here)

What are you doing?

China chika tanam?

(note: china= what, chika= doing, tanam= you).
